James was born in Washington, D.C. and went to high school in Chevy Chase, MD. After graduating from Suffolk University with a B.A. in communications, James returned to D.C. to begin a career in local politics, working in community affairs for the Gray and Bowser administrations. After several years in the executive branch of the D.C. government, he left for the private sector to help solve the problems he encountered while working directly with constituents. James discovered the best way to feed his passion for his community was through real estate. He worked for Thos. D. Walsh Realtors, one of D.C.’s oldest real estate firms, for 5 years before joining TTR Sotheby's International Realty with the MacDonald/Becker Team. James has extensive experience in TOPA, condo and co-op sales, off market and private placements, multi-family, as well as investment properties and 1031 exchanges. James brings vast local knowledge of the D.C., MD, and VA areas, as well as a passion for helping people explore the city that raised him. James lives in Logan Circle with his partner and two rescue dogs, Major League and Caddie. In addition to real estate, James is a USGTF certified golf instructor who loves teaching beginners the game and is always looking to perfect his swing.
